Regart, centre d’artistes en art actuel

Established in Lévis since 1986, Regart, a contemporary artist’ center, ensure the dynamic presence of the visual arts for the public of Chaudière-Appalaches and Québec City.

In the gallery, in the window and in public space, the Regart program highlights works that reflect the hybridisation and experiment in which artistic quality and the importance of theory are shown off. The centre favours innovative projects, research and exchanges aiming at being an open venue, a field of possibilities in which discussion with artists and mediation with the public are fundamental.

Our 2018–19 programming will remain in line with this artistic direction, and we invite artists and curators who place particular emphasis on collaboration as a motivating force in their practices, their thinking, and their methodologies to submit proposals for our 2018–19 programming.

Regart is seeking to support collaborative approaches and hybrid forms that reconcile orientations and sensibilities from multiple fields and forms of expression; that interrogate limits and propose innovative methodologies; in which “the Other” serves as an inspiration through dialogue or by observation; or which arm the plurality of intersecting realities that make up our world.

We are looking for proposals that highlight surprising influences, themes, or concepts; whose points of departure distinguish them in the cultural
